Beverly Hills
With a flight that’s just under an hour, So Cal is easy to get to and jam-packed full of great things to do for families - with weather that’s more predictable up north!
Stay
At the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire or at The Montage; or closer to the residential area and the Westfield Mall at the Beverly Hilton (which boasts the largest pool in Beverly Hills).
In Town
Besides swimming at your hotel pool or strolling down Rodeo Drive (and eating at the original The Cheesecake Factory);
Visit Edelweiss Chocolate Shop, which inspired the famous I Love Lucy "Job Switching" episode (I recommend watching it before you go!). At the Shop, ask to peek into the back at the conveyer belt.
Walk to Beverly Gardens Park, the site of the renowned Beverly Hills sign.
From Beverly Gardens Park, continue walking into the residential part of Beverly Hills to see the O'Neill House @507 North Rodeo Drive or the Spadena House (AKA "the witch's house") @516 Walden Drive.
Close By
Travel back in time at the La Brea Tar Pits, where trapped fossils in tar impress all ages.
Eat at The Grove, the “most visited place in LA,” which pairs nicely with La Brea or the Griffith Observatory and has a "farmer's market" next door (which is a series of small, unique eateries).
Shop at the Century City’s Westfield Mall. Beautifully redone with a small play area and a good rainy day option!
Feeling More Ambitious?
The Griffith Observatory/Hollywood Sign - the Observatory is slightly dated, but sweet and entry is free, so there's no guilt if you only last for 5 minutes.
The Santa Monica Pier and the small, interactive Aquarium right under the Pier is a must see!
The LA Zoo - large, but not overwhelming, and nicely laid-out.
